Honorary Research Associate, La Trobe University

Åsa Ferrier is a research archaeologist and cultural heritage consultant specialising in Aboriginal archaeology and cultural heritage of the Far North Queensland region. My research focuses on long-term Aboriginal history, integrating a diverse range of data and information including Aboriginal knowledge, archaeological evidence, and historical evidence. I specialise in Aboriginal rainforest stone artefact analyses, contact archaeology, ethnographic research, archaeobotany, and oral history recording. I work closely with a range of stakeholders, including Aboriginal organisations, universities, and government departments.
