Ataa Alsalloum

I am an academic who aims to make a contribution to the raising of management practices, succeeding to integrate cultural heritage management, urban planning and sustainable urban development. As such, I am extremely keen on demonstrating clearly the central role cultural heritage can play in the sustainable urban development of our society and vice versa. Such a demonstration will undoubtedly reinforce the importance of protecting heritage for the benefits of present and future generations. Particularly, in the case of post-war reconciliation in the Middle East & North Africa region where a particular type of heritage/historic cities (Medinas) have been under threats. Additionally, heritage policy documents issued by UNESCO, English heritage and other relative organisation have been my main research interest.
