Athanasia Francis

PhD researcher in Hispanic Studies; Basque Studies, University of Liverpool

I am a PhD researcher in Hispanic/Basque Studies at the University of Liverpool, UK. My primary research area is transnational feminist activism, gender violence, and solidarity strategies. My academic background includes Social Anthropology focusing on gender, and European Literature and Culture Studies.

My research also explores feminist epistemologies and methodologies, as well as issues of positionality. I am particularly interested in the dialogue between academic and activist discourse, conducting research as a feminist activist and a sexual violence survivor.
