Awadhesh Jha is Professor of Genetic Toxicology and Ecotoxicology at the University of Plymouth, UK. Adopting multidisciplinary approach, his research interest involves elucidation of fundamental mechanisms of toxicity induced by a range of environmental stressors including ionising radiations and chemicals. His group has developed many new approaches including applications of omics technologies to assess the hazard and risks posed by environmental agents, particularly on marine organisms. His work also promotes developments of alternative methods to reduce the use of live fish for biological studies.
