I am an academic and businessperson. I hold a number of degrees (B.A.Hons., Monash 1971), (Dip. Ed., Monash, 1972), (M.Env.Sci.- Monash, 1983), and am currently completing a PhD in the field of Plain English and jargon, also at Monash.

I led the Professional Writing program at Monash 2002- 2010, and am currently writing professionally, with a million-word textbook/ Instructor's Manuals project, a business column, a doctoral thesis (incorporating corpus linguistic techniques), and a trade book entitled Good English- in Plain English.
