Bastian Becker is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bremen, Research Center on Inequality and Social Policy (SOCIUM) and holds a PhD in Political Science from Central European University (CEU).

His main research interest lies in the political economy of inequality and redistribution, whereby he draws on comparative, historical as well as behavioral approaches.

He previously served as a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow at Bard College Berlin (BCB) and worked in international development, in particular the German Development Institute (DIE), the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), and the German International Cooperation (GIZ).
