Casual Academic in Education; Head Teacher (Secondary), Principal Research Officer, UNSW Sydney

Dr Ben North is an experienced Head Teacher who has worked in secondary schools across Sydney, and has consulted with schools and teachers across Australia, Asia, and Europe. He is a regular presenter at professional development sessions and continues to work with a range of schools to develop effective school-based teaching programs. He has worked with the New South Wales Department of Education's Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation (CESE) as seconded Principal Research Officer. Ben completed a PhD in Education at UNSW Australia under the supervision of Dr Susen Smith and Prof Miraca Gross. He holds as Master of Education from UNSW Australia and completed Honours (Class 1) in Education at the University of Sydney. Ben continues to work as a casual academic and researcher at UNSW Australia in the field of gifted education. His areas of interest include school pressure and examination stress, educational psychology, and gifted education.
