Benedetta Zocchi

Leverhulme Trust Doctoral Scholar, Queen Mary University of London

Benedetta Zocchi is a Leverhulme Trust Doctoral Scholar at the School of Politics and International Relations, Queen Mary, University of London. She is interested in post-colonial legacies, de-colonial thinking and the necropolitics of migration and bordering in Europe. Her past work explored the social and political construction of colonial amnesia in Italy and the re-activation of colonial consciousness in contemporary racists practices and discourses in Italy, France and the UK. At the moment, her research focuses on analysing the coloniality of mobility concerning people attempting to cross EU borders, with particular attention to the different realities of exclusion and marginalisation on the EU frontier between Bosnia and Croatia.
