Bernadette Stiell

Bernadette Stiell is a Senior Research Fellow in the Sheffield Institute of Education (SIOE) at Sheffield Hallam University. Her research interests focus on social and education policy, children and young people's inclusion, and the wider aspects of their learning and wellbeing.

She has led and been involved in numerous research and evaluation projects, with funders including government departments, national and regional agencies, local authorities and charities. Much of her work utilises qualitative and mixed methods approaches. Recent research includes Arts Council England's funded project on the Diversity in Children's Literature; evaluation of DfE's Teaching and Leadership Innovation Fund (TLIF); and Save the Children Children's Communities evaluation.
