Birgit Schippers is Senior Lecturer in Politics at St Mary’s University College Belfast and a visiting fellow at the Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Justice and Security at Queen’s University Belfast. Birgit is the author of Julia Kristeva and Feminist Thought (EUP, 2011) and The Political Philosophy of Judith Butler (Routledge, 2014) and editor of two collections, Critical Perspectives on Human Rights (Rowman & Littlefield International, 2018) and the Routledge Handbook to Rethinking Ethics in International Relations (Routledge, forthcoming). She is currently working on two projects, on new materialism and international political theory, and on the computational turn in human rights scholarship.
