Research Fellow within the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues, University of Birmingham

Blaire joined the School of Education in 2012, and is working as a Research Fellow within the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues. Her background is in Psychology and she completed her PhD in the School of Psychology in 2013. Blaire is currently working on the 'Influence of Parents and the Media' project that is examining the influence of social media on young people's moral functioning and the role that parents might play in moderating these effects.
Previously, Blaire worked on the Jubilee Centre's 'Attitude for Gratitude' project, which examined how gratitude is understood, experienced and valued in the UK. She has also led in the testing and development of a new measure of gratitude; the Multi-Component Gratitude Measure (MCGM). Her work can be seen in journals such as the Journal of Moral Education and the Journal of Positive Psychology and has featured in local, national and international news including the BBC and ITV.
