Blessing Onyima is a SENIOR LECTURER in SOCIOLOGY AND ANTHROPOLOGY Department, Faculty Of Social Sciences in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria.
She is a Cultural and Medical Anthropologist proficient in qualitative ethnographic research with themes on Culture, Health, Gender, Environment, and Conflict Studies. Onyima holds a Ph.D. in Medical Anthropology; M.A. in Medical Anthropology; and B.A, Cultural Anthropology, University of Ibadan.
A seasoned ethnographer and qualitative researcher. Fellow 2016 African Humanities Program (AHP) Dissertation Completion Grant of the American Council for Learned Societies (ACLS) Sponsored by Carnegie Corporation. She has published in local and international journals and also made contributions to book chapters. She is currently a Co-principal investigator (CO-PI) in the Leading Integrated Research Agenda for Africa (LIRA 2030) sponsored by the International Science Council (ISC) and Network for African Science Academies (NASAC), which is a transdisciplinary research going on in South Africa and Nigeria.
