Brent R. Klein is a doctoral candidate in the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University and a faculty member in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of South Carolina. He is currently completing one National Institute of Justice (NIJ) funded study on the pathways to school shootings. His research focuses on generating more refined theories of violent offending and producing empirical evidence to guide public policy about critical social problems. Mr. Klein studies decision-making in crime, developmental-life course criminology, and the situations of violence. Recent publications have appeared in Justice Quarterly, Criminology & Public Policy, Crime & Delinquency, and the Journal of Interpersonal Violence.
