PhD Candidate (Psychiatry) & Research Assistant, University of Newcastle

After three years as a medical student (2015-17) at the University of Newcastle, Brigid chose to exit with a Bachelor of Health to pursue an academic career in translational research. She has since worked as a research assistant with Professor Billie Bonevski and started her PhD (Psychiatry) scholarship in 2019 in health behaviour change in stroke survivors.

In May of 2019 she also began working for Professor Nicole Lee with 360Edge as a research assistant in alcohol and other drugs and mental health comorbidity.

As a reseach assistant between the University of Newcastle and 360Edge she has worked across a number of fields from secondary stroke prevention, rural mental health, smoking cessation, alcohol and other drug use, and AOD and mental health comorbidity.
