Lecturer in Social Policy, Queen's University Belfast

Bronagh Byrne is a lecturer in Social Policy at Queen's University Belfast. Her research interests lie in two main areas; disability rights and children’s rights. She has a keen interest in disability policy and the relationship between international human rights law and policy development and implementation with respect to disability issues. She also has an active interest in the potential of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which incorporates a range of social policy areas, in creating a more inclusive society, particularly in relation to children and young people, and the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Bronagh is a member of the Centre for Children's Rights and co-chair of the Disability Research Network at Queen's University Belfast.
