Bryan W. Van Norden

James Monroe Taylor Professor in Philosophy, Vassar College

Bryan W. Van Norden is a leading expert on Chinese thought. One of his recent books is Taking Back Philosophy: A Multicultural Manifesto. He is also the author, translator, or editor of nine other books on Chinese and comparative philosophy, including Introduction to Classical Chinese Philosophy.

Van Norden is James Monroe Taylor Chair in Philosophy at Vassar College (USA), and Chair Professor in the School of Philosophy at Wuhan University (China).

He is available for presentations, articles, or consultations on Chinese history, philosophy, and current affairs, including but not limited to Confucianism, Daoism (Taoism), Buddhism, and their contemporary relevance.
