Professor of Mathematical Cognition, Loughborough University

Camilla Gilmore is Professor of Mathematical Cognition at Loughborough University and lead of the ESRC Centre for Early Mathematics Learning. Her research is focused on understanding how mathematics skills develop, particularly in the early years. She is interested in how children's cognitive process such as thinking skills and memory, as well as their experiences, influence mathematics learning. She works in collaboration with educators to identify how better understanding of mathematics learning can inform early years and classroom practice.
