Senior Research Technician, University of Warwick

My principal interest is the study of food systems as a complex interaction between social, economic and environmental factors that affect and are affected by all the different stakeholders of the agri-food supply chain.
I work on life cycle assessments (LCA), i.e. the environmental impact of food from cradle to grave, in order to highlight the hotspots where major improvements can be made to make our food systems more sustainable.
I also study food security and the potential of agroecology to fight undernourishment and environmental degradation, focusing mainly on Western Africa, especially Senegal.
My interest in food also goes beyond academia. I am a Master Gardener for Garden Organic, a very keen member of the Warwick University Allotment Society and a regular organiser of Disco Soups!
