Director, NUSTEM, Faculty of Engineering and Environment, Northumbria University, Newcastle

Carol's teaching career started in Barnsley college as a Physics lecturer. Following a career break she then taught physics (and science) at a large North East school for over seven years. She was also part of a number of curriculum development projects whilst at the school: from creating an online video physics course, writing a new curriculum for years seven and eight to being the actor for a hologram! She was also the school subject mentor for ITE students. Carol then moved into the field of teacher education and worked within the network of Science Learning Centres for over 5 years.

Carol is now an Associate Professor at Northumbria University and the Director of NUSTEM, an outreach and research group focussed on STEM engagement and children's career aspirations.
