Cassandra L. Yacovazzi

Assistant Professor of History, University of South Florida

I am an Assistant Professor of History at the University of South Florida where I teach classes on American history. My focus is women's history, religious history, popular culture, and business history. I have published a book on opposition to nuns and convents in antebellum America entitled ESCAPED NUNS (Oxford UP, 2018). My current book project explores the life of Mary Kay Ash and the business of Mary Kay Cosmetics. I examine the intersection of Mary Kay and feminism, the culture of women in direct sales, and relation between faith and capitalism.
