Catarina Araya Cardoso

Lecturer in Economics, University of Westminster

My research focuses on electricity demand and I am particularly interested in the transformational effects of smart technologies in the energy landscape. My previous research has been informed by institutional economics, environmental economics and public policy. More recently, I have started looking at how behavioural economics can help us understand businesses’ energy consumption.

Prior to joining Westminster Business School, I spent over 10 years working in energy policy, including roles in the Carbon Trust, WWF-UK and the European Commission and I use this experience in both my teaching and research.
