Catarina Sjolin Knight

Lecturer in Law, Nottingham Trent University

After 15 years in practice as a criminal barrister I am now a Senior Lecturer at Nottingham Law School.

Following MA (Hons) and LLM degrees from Cambridge University I qualified as a barrister in 1998 and practised for the next 15 years at 36 Bedford Row, London, specialising in serious crime. With a colleague, Felicity Gerry QC, I wrote the Sexual Offences Handbook in 2009, a practitioner text covering historic and current substantive sexual offences law tougher with the relevant law on evidence, procedure and sentencing. For the second edition (2014) the editor of the Criminal Appeal Reports (Sentencing), Lyndon Harris, joined us. I now teach and write on criminal law. My research is primarily focussed on sexual offences and all aspects of law upon which they impinge, including evidence and procedure.
