Catherine Offord

Senior Principal Research Scientist, Botanic Gardens of Sydney

I am a conservation biologist working for the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney, the oldest scientific institution in Australia. I have a PhD and Masters in plant Science from USyd. I currently supervise PhD students from UNSW, UQ, UTS, and many other universities in the past 25 years. I have more than 70 peer-reviewed articles and I regularly review for high impact journals. I head up the research at Australia's largest seed biology institute, the Australian PlantBank, employing 12 research staff. I am currently a PI in in two ARC projects. In 2018 I won the NSW Premiers Prize for Innovation in Science and Engineering.
