Research assistant; Teaching associate, Monash University

Cathy Sell is a research assistant and teaching associate working in the fields of Japanese Studies, Translation Studies, and Linguistics within the School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics at Monash University. She is a NAATI accredited professional translator specialising in fine arts and popular culture. Her primary research interests relate to multimodal communication, including translation and semiotics in Japanese art museums, manga as an intercultural medium, and second language acquisition of sign language.
