Celia Rose Jackson

Senior Lecturer, Photography/ Fashion Promotion, University of South Wales

I have almost thirty years of experience in research, lecturing and writing on photography. I focus especially on the representation of women in fashion and advertising imagery, and on tackling gender inequality within the photography industry. I am also co-founder of Phrame, a friendly and inclusive collective within which I work to encourage, mentor, support and promote women photographers in Cardiff and South Wales, and to challenge everyday sexism wherever I encounter it.

As a creative practitioner I have exhibited widely for over 15 years, both nationally and internationally. Additional outputs include conference presentations, exhibition reviews, catalogue forewords and essays, the latest of which was published in February 2019.
