Research fellow, University of the Free State

Charles Villet taught philosophy and ethics at various universities in Johannesburg from 2002 to 2019. He earned his PhD from Monash University in 2018, his thesis is a study of whiteness and the struggle for recognition in post-Apartheid South Africa. His current research falls within the fields of postcolonial, whiteness and heterotopian studies as well as critical theory with a focus on the politics of recognition. He is now based in Düsseldorf (Germany) and is a research fellow with the Philosophy Department at the University of the Free State.
