Chris maintains primary research interests in various areas of International Economics and Business. His doctoral thesis looked at the political economy of trade policy in Africa. Since then he has written papers on economic growth, trade and foreign direct investment (FDI) with a focus on developing countries. His main interest now is using firm-level data to analyse the locational choices of MNE’s applied to a number of different contexts; these include FDI in conflict zones, FDI in tax havens and the FDI decisions of Tobacco firms.
