Associate professor, University of the Witwatersrand

After teaching stints in Nagoya, Japan (2002-2003) and at the University of Cape Town (2004-2007), I joined the Department of English Literature at Wits University in 2008. I also work as a freelance arts writer and political commentator. I edit the journal Shakespeare in Southern Africa.

I teach and supervise in various areas: South African literature, Shakespeare and early modern literature, creative writing and nineteenth- and twentieth-century English literature.
