International Lead, CELSIS, University of Strathclyde

Dr Chrissie Gale has more than thirty years' professional experience in civil society primarily working in an international context specialising in Child Protection Systems and Child Care Reform. She has worked for leading UN and international children's rights NGOs including UNICEF, UNHCR, UNRWA, Save the Children and Oxfam, and has been the International Lead for CELCIS since 2015.

Focusing on the use of evidence to inform practice, Dr Gale's work has included contributing to EC policy on deinstutionalisation for the European Commission and advising on child protection and alternative care for the UN Advocacy Working Group to advise States on the UNGA Rights of the Child resolution on ‘Children without Parental Care’. Dr Gale is the Lead Educator for the University of Strathclyde and FutureLearn Getting Care Right for All Children and the Caring for Children Moving Alone: Protecting Unaccompanied and Separated Children Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).
