Christina Patricola

Assistant Professor of Atmospheric Sciences, Iowa State University

The primary goal of my research is to understand the physical relationships between extreme weather events, natural climate variability, and climate change within the coupled Earth system. I design and perform high-resolution numerical climate model simulations to investigate connections between the large-scale climate and extreme weather events, including tropical cyclones, floods, storms, and drought.

Research areas:
- climate variability and change
- climate dynamics
- tropical cyclones
- extreme weather/climate events
- atmosphere-ocean interactions
- high-resolution climate modeling
