Christine C. Caruso

Assistant Professor of Public Health, University of Saint Joseph

Christine C. Caruso, Ph.D., MPH, assistant professor and director of undergraduate Public Health, recently joined the School of Interdisciplinary Health and Science in the department of Nutrition and Public Health. Dr. Caruso received her Ph.D. in Environmental Psychology from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. A public health psychologist with expertise in food systems and social determinants of health, she also served as a research fellow at New York City’s School Food Focus. Dr. Caruso’s research explores the factors and influences that shape school food and meal service, and the associated impact on both students and school food workers. Her most current projects continue to examine institutional food, as well as health disparities, care labor and civic engagement.
