My research focus is in two major areas which revolve round ‘Water for Rice’. The first is harnessing soil and water resources for ensuring increase in food (rice) productivity in order to attain self-sufficiency while the second is the use of biological techniques in the treatment of liquid wastewater for the purpose of recycling, reclaim and reuse especially in rice irrigation. Some of the factors responsible for decline in yield apart from soil and water are climate change-related issues.
I have over two decades of active research with publications to show in two federal universities (Uniyo and FUTA), private university (Landmark university-the first privately-owned university of agriculture in Nigeria), continental university (Pan African University -PAUWESS, Algeria and PAULESI, Nigeria) and state university (Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Ondo state.
I obtained both Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Ibadan in 2009 and 2001 respectively while my B.Eng. degree was obtained from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) in 1999. This is apart from my post-doctoral training at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Malaysia in 2011, visiting scientist at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia in 2015 and many other trainings at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Alterra-ILRI, Wageningen University, Netherlands and many others. I am a recipient of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), multiple award winner, Mashav fellowship, Netherland Fellowship Programme (NFP), US national academies fellowship and so on
