Cian O'Callaghan

Cian O’Callaghan is an urban geographer at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. His research has been supported by the Irish Research Council and has appeared in several leading geographical and urban journals. He has paid particular attention to cultural theory and issues about the representation of urban life in art. He has also examined the place of the cultural industries in urban regeneration. His doctoral research was on the politics of culture-led regeneration in the city of Cork. He is currently completing a project on the cultural, political and economic significance of the ghost estates of Ireland. Cian is also one of the mainstays of the ‘Ireland after NAMA’ blog.
