Claire Corbett is a writer.
Her novel When We Have Wings was published in 2011 by Allen & Unwin and shortlisted for the 2012 Barbara Jefferis Award and the 2012 Ned Kelly Award for Best First Fiction.
Recently her stories and essays have been published by Griffith Review, Spineless Wonders and Overland. She writes on defence, space and the arts for The Monthly magazine, teaches literature and writing at UTS and is a doctoral candidate at the University of Western Sydney.
Her essay The Last Space Waltz? was shortlisted for the 2012 ABR CAL essay prize and her story Snake in the Grass has been selected for Best Australian Stories 2014 (Black Inc). In 2014 she was awarded an international writers’ residency at Writers Omi at Ledig House in upstate New York.
