Damien Van Puyvelde

Lecturer in Intelligence and International Security, University of Glasgow

Damien Van Puyvelde is an interdisciplinary scholar whose work focuses on the role of intelligence and security agencies in contemporary democracies. Before taking a position as Lecturer in Intelligence and International Security at the University of Glasgow, he was an Assistant Professor at The National Security Studies Institute – An Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence at the University of Texas at El Paso.

Damien recently co-edited a volume on US National Cybersecurity: International Politics, Concepts and Organization (New York and Abingdon: Routledge, 2017). His next major research project, funded by the Texas National Security Network Excellence Fund, will examine the factors affecting professionals’ ability to keep secrets.
