Dan Pierce has spent over a decade teaching biology to undergraduates, including courses in Cancer Biology & Tumorigenesis, Cell & Molecular Biology, Synthetic Biology, and Introductory courses. In addition to his current position at the University of Richmond, he has also partnered with the Emory-Tibet Science Initiative (ETSI) to learn with Tibetan monks in India. Dr. Pierce's research focuses on understanding the biology of the bacterium Agrobacterium tumefaciens, which forms tumors in its plant hosts.
