Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics, Queensland University of Technology

Danielle Gallegos BSc., Grad Dip Nut & Diet., PhD is currently Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics and Director of the Woolworths Centre for Childhood Nutrition Research. As a social nutritionist her work focuses on the intersection between social justice and nutrition. Her current research investigates how all Australians irrespective of where they live or how much money they earn can have access to healthy food. She is particularly interested in household food insecurity and how families can put food on the table without being shamed and in food sovereignty models.

Danielle is currently supported by a grant from the Queensland Children's Hospital Foundation via philanthropic funding from Woolworths. The money was donated by staff and customers. The Foundation and Woolworths are not involved in the governance of the Centre or in any aspects related to the research or its dissemination.
