Danny is a Research Fellow in the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics (Faculty of Science and Engineering). He works on the INTERREG Tidal Stream Industry Energiser (TIGER) project. His research investigates aspects of tidal stream energy such as cost reduction, system integration, and resource assessment. Prior to Plymouth, Danny completed an MEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Manchester (2011), and a PhD in hydrodynamic modelling at the University of Southampton (2016), where he is now a visiting researcher. Danny was also a Research Associate at Imperial College London (2016). He also has industry experience in the fields of tidal and wind energy working as the Resource Analyst at SIMEC Atlantis Energy (2017-2019) and as Business Information and Data Analyst at Ventient Energy (2019-2020). Danny is a member of the British Standards Institution, and International Electrotechnical Commission, developing standards in marine energy relating to tidal stream turbine performance, and resource assessment.
