Danny Dwi Saputra, lahir di Kabupaten Tuban, Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Saat ini sedang menetap di Belanda untuk menempuh studi S3 di Wageningen University and Research. Lulus pendidikan S1 (2008) dan S2 (2011) di Universitas Brawijaya, dan kemudian menjadi dosen di Jurusan Ilmu Tanah di universitas yang sama sejak tahun 2011. Penelitian-penelitian yang dilakukan banyak terkait dengan sifat fisik tanah, agroforestri, neraca air dan pengelolaan DAS, resiliensi lahan pertanian pasca erupsi gunung berapi.
