Daphney Nozizwe Conco

Honorary lecturer at the School of Public Health, University of the Witwatersrand

Dr Daphney Nozizwe Conco has extensive research, training, programming, monitoring and evaluation work experience in the fields of Public Health, Health Systems, Women’s Health, Gender, Sexuality and Reproductive Health and Rights. She has worked, both full time and as an independent consultant for a number of academic, non-governmental and developmental organizations in South Africa. She is currently an Independent Consultant specializing on research, training, advocacy work, policy formulation and analysis in the field of Health; Gender, Sexuality and Reproductive Health and Rights. She holds a doctoral degree from London South Bank University, Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences. Her thesis was: Poverty, Household Hunger and Women’s Empowerment in Impoverished Settlements in Johannesburg. Her basic training qualified her as a professional nurse, while she majored in Sociology. She later obtained her Masters in Management of Public and Development, all from South African Universities.
