Dean of Arts & Sciences, Clarkson University

Darryl Scriven is Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences and Fellow in the Shipley Center for Innovation at Clarkson University. Prior to joining Clarkson, he was Dean of the College of Arts, Sciences, Business and Education as well as the John and Anna Hanes Distinguished Professor in Humanities at Winston-Salem State University. Scriven has also served as the Chair of Visual Arts, Humanities and Theatre at Florida A&M University and the Inaugural Associate Director of Education at the Tuskegee University National Center for Bioethics in Research and Health Care. He is currently the Academic Chair for the Journal of Humanities, Science, and Healthcare. Scriven is a documentarian, novelist, entrepreneur, and speaks frequently at universities and national seminars. He earned his M.A. & Ph.D. in Philosophy from Purdue University and B.S. degrees in Mathematics and Philosophy/Religion from Florida A&M University.
