David Colón Cabrera

Lecturer in Anthropology, Monash University

David Colón Cabrera is a medical anthropologist working as research officer at the Monash Health Gender Clinic and at Monash University. He is also a casual lecturer of anthropology at Monash University.
David's career has been a diverse collection of academic and professional experiences revolving around the study of health and inequality. He has recently worked in research aimed at understanding the perspectives of people with mitochondrial disease. His dissertation research studied how international research on male circumcision as an HIV prevention strategy, influenced local service delivery in reproductive and sexual health clinics. His research interests center around health services research, LGBTI+ health, disability, racism, gender, and masculinities.
