Research Manager at the Southern Centre for Inequality Studies, University of the Witwatersrand

David Francis is currently a researcher in economics in the Faculty of Commerce, Law and Management at Wits University, and is the Research Manager for the Southern Centre for Inequality Studies at Wits. He is a research associate on the CSID National Minimum Wage-Research Initiative with a focus on wage inequality. He has a masters degree in development studies from UKZN, and an undergraduate degree in history and economics from UCT. He was the researcher for the National Minimum Wage Advisory Panel, and is working on a set of policy briefs on wage inequality for CSID. He is working on a doctorate in labour market economics.
