Lillian Gilbreth Postdoctoral Fellow, Purdue University

David Gunderman received his AB summa cum laude in Mathematics and German from Wabash College, then spent a year in Germany on a Fulbright fellowship. He earned his PhD from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he studied computational geometry, statistical collaboration, and algorithms for numerical PDEs. While there, he worked as a research fellow at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, as a statistical consultant for the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis, and as an instructor of mathematics. He was recently awarded the Lillian Gilbreth Postdoctoral Fellowship at Purdue Engineering, where he is researching new ways of using computational mathematics for cardiovascular simulation. Dr. Gunderman won numerous awards for his teaching while at Boulder.
