David Hayward

Between August 2009 and December 2016, David was Dean of the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies. Between 2007 and 2013, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Melbourne Health, incorporating the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He is a life member of the Victorian Council of Social Service. In January 2014 he was elected Chair of RMIT's Academic Board, which brings with it a seat on University Council. He was re-elected unopposed in January 2015 for a further 2 year term. In 2017 he moved into a new role to help establish the newly funded Future Social Service Institute. He provided high level policy advice within RMIT's Policy and Impact Team. In December 2018, David retired from full-time work but continues to research, teach and advise.
