Research Fellow and Instructor in Pediatrics, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus

Dr. David Higgins, MD, MPH, is a double-board certified general pediatrician, preventive medicine specialist, and health services researcher at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU AMC). He is an Attending physician at the Child Health Clinic at the Children's Hospital Colorado. He is a research fellow and principal investigator at ACCORDS (Adult and Child Center for Outcomes Research and Delivery Science) on the CU AMC. Dr. Higgins' research focuses on improving the health of children, adolescents, and their communities through pragmatic interventions to enhance vaccine delivery, communication, and confidence. He also teaches pediatrics and preventive medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

His experiences as a community pediatrician in urban and rural communities, academic physician, health services researcher, and public health advisor have given him a deep understanding of health services delivery, disease prevention, research, and health education. As an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, he advocates passionately for the health of children, adolescents, and their communities. Dr. Higgins is an experienced speaker, writer, and educator on approaches to improving vaccine confidence and delivery. After obtaining his doctoral degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, he completed post-doctoral training programs in pediatrics, public health, and general preventive medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Colorado School of Public Health, and the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
