David J. Harding

Associate Professor of Sociology, University of California, Berkeley

David J. Harding is Associate Professor of Sociology and Director of the Social Sciences Data Lab (D-Lab) at the University of California, Berkeley. His research interests include urban poverty, inequality, criminal justice, culture, and causal inference. Harding is the author of "Living the Drama: Community, Conflict and Culture among Inner-City Boys" (University of Chicago Press, 2010) and co-author of "Rampage: The Social Roots of School Shootings" (Basic Books, 2004). In 2014 he received the William Julius Wilson Early Career Award from the Inequality, Poverty, and Mobility Section of the American Sociological Association. He currently serves as chair of the Section.
