David Mataix-Cols

Professor and Honorary Consultant Clinical Psychologist, King's College London

Professor Mataix-Cols is a clinical psychologist specialised in the study and clinical care of patients with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders. In 1997-1998 he was a visiting researcher at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, USA. After completing his PhD in 1999, he joined the faculty of the University of Barcelona as a lecturer. In year 2000 he was awarded the prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship by the EU to conduct post-doctoral research at Imperial College London. He is now Professor and Honorary Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London. He leads the Psychobiology of Anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders Group, which conducts multidisciplinary (i.e. bio-psycho-social) research into anxiety, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders.
