Lecturer in Teacher Education, University of Canterbury

David is a Lecturer in the University of Canterbury School of Teacher Education, and a former secondary mathematics teacher. His research focuses on socio-economic, ethnic and gender inequalities in mathematics learning. He is particularly interested in how racial and gender stereotypes about who is 'mathematical' can be barriers to learning, and the relationship between 'streaming' or 'ability' grouping and educational equity.
