David Thorpe

David Thorpe lectures in the subjects Contracts, Sports Law and Advanced Contracts and has received a number of commendations in teaching. He is an author of Sports Law (Oxford University Press, 3rd ed. 2018). David engages in academic discourse through several national and international law journals including Journal of Contract Law, International Sports Law Journal, ANZ Sports Law Journal, Torts Law Journal, Sports Management Review, Victoria University Law and Justice Journal among several others. His most recent research interest concerns civil liability in respect to adolescent risk taking given recent revelations in neuroscience. David is a member of the Australia-New Zealand Sports Law Association and a member of the Editorial Committee of the Australia New Zealand Sports Law Journal. He is a past co-author of Halsbury's Laws of Australia (Sport).
